Newton Lady Rams Varsity couldn’t keep up with Grayson and fell 11-3 on Wednesday.

Grayson scored four runs in the fourth inning. Kelsie Walker, Nia McKnight, and Jordyn Green powered the big inning with RBIs.

Kylie Macy earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for Grayson. Macy went four innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out seven and walking zero. Sam Smith threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Smith recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Grayson.

Elle Standard took the loss for Newton Lady Rams Varsity. Standard surrendered 11 runs on 11 hits over four and a third innings.

Aulora Edwards led Newton Lady Rams Varsity with two hits in three at bats. Newton Lady Rams Varsity was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Hayden Pearson made the most plays with four.

Grayson racked up 11 hits on the day. Smith, Kailyn Jones, and Kayla McDuffie all managed multiple hits for Grayson. Grayson stole seven bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Jones led the way with two. Grayson was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Green had the most chances in the field with eight.
